As I go through my day of teaching, answering text and message questions about problems people are encountering, and offering my help, I frequently give answers that offend, bother or frustrate people. I don’t mean to – I’m just giving the information as it is. Many times, people explain to me again the issue in a different way as if I’ve misunderstood. Or they say, “I’ve already done all the preparation work and the horse is still resistant.” “The incident defies logic, I’ve never taught her to do anything like that, but she still ran me over/pulled back/bolted.”
So then I have to ask – do you actually want feedback, so you can change and help your horse? Or do you want validation? Because those are two very different things.
