I think technique and understanding is very important for riding and horsemanship, but an enormous part of it is self awareness, mental clarity and being able to keep your mind still. I think a fantastic avenue for us to understand ourselves better is therapy. It isn’t just for folks with mental health issues – I really believe therapy benefits everyone. The more calm, self aware, and confident we can be in our abilities, the more we can benefit our horses, too. Normalize therapy!
