The Journey

You need to accept that horsemanship and good riding are a journey that you will never finish or arrive at. That way, when you hear information that counters what you know, your ego won’t be so affronted and reject it to keep you comfortable.

The amount of years we’ve been doing something is often a crutch we use to protect our knowledge and reject information we don’t know about yet: But the horse world is evolving, and we are learning more constantly about their health, bodies, and minds.

If you accept that you will never arrive, you won’t be so offended or discouraged when you have more to learn.
